I realize this happened a while ago, but I don't remember seeing it in here. Does anyone have any new information on this?

Rosewood,
That kind of speculation has already been pushed by Kendall Rogers (among others) and though it's irritating, I find it is also laughable after reading some of his past baseball predictions and how far off the mark they were. So I guess we should just consider the source.
My concern with this article is whether this kind of thing can happen to our guys and who is looking out for them and their interests? I'm not familiar yet with all that goes on behind the scenes."She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous

I LOVE how the article highlights at the end that without Oliver, Wichita State was able to beat the OSU Cowboys. Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world. In a perfect world Tyler Fleming would have been healthy. We could play the what if game all of our lifes but unfortunately that doesn't change the facts of what did happen. There is a saying out there that goes something like "There's no use crying over spilled milk". Maybe they have never heard that down in Oklahoma. :posterwu:

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I guess I don't understand to setup to begin with.
In this case, Oliver agrees that he will ultimatley engage Barretta as his agent. The keyword is "ultimately" ( = contingency). With that expectation of being Oliver's agent for life, Barretta performs certain services on Oliver's behalf (which he could not perform under NCAA rules if he had already been hired as an agent).
The difference in the analogy is that in this case Barretta was dumped and sent a bill to Oliver for the services already rendered. The courts will have to determine whether Oliver agreed to payment in the event he did not ultimately engage Barretta."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I'm with you, Snapshot9. This line between "advisor/agent" appears to be very gray. It sounds like a slippery slope to me.
The lawsuit (I guess it would be the countersuit) alleges offers of baseball equipment and private pitching lessons, according to one article. If true, it may be a long while before OSU has "still water."

Cowboy's new they were beat in the first half inning. There coach was tossed for arguing balls and strikes after a strikeout to end the top of the 1st inning. That shows they were panicking. Thats nuts.First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Isn't Google amazing?
Update:
It appears that OSU has been added as a defendant in Oliver's lawsuit.
Sports Business Journal sits at the epicenter of sports business, providing news, analysis, networking and data for the sports industry.
"Ineligible P Andy Oliver Adds Oklahoma State To Lawsuit
By Liz Mullen, Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal Andy Oliver, the Oklahoma State Univ. (OSU) pitcher declared ineligible earlier this year, has added OSU as a defendant in his breach of contract lawsuit against the NCAA and his former…" (Sorry, I wasn't going to join to read the rest...lol.)
Also, you may want to check this out:
On June 2, I wrote a post about a left-handed pitcher named Andy Oliver who had been restricted from helping his Oklahoma State University team advance in the NCAA tournament with the hope of playing
Make sure to read the comments that follow. Pretty interesting.
I was under the impression that the NCAA had received word that Oliver's eligibility was in question, but that OSU made the final decision not to let him play. This may not have been the case.
I am only interested in this because I don't yet know how the college baseball system works or how prolific this kind of thing is. Do we have any lawyers in here to clarify or NCAA rules and regulations experts? I don't want any of our guys put in this position. They say ignorance is no excuse, so someone please enlighten me. :)
