I'll admit that I don't watch a ton of college baseball. But the games I've seen have told me that the college strike zone has wider corners than the MLB. That's why I was so shocked about how tight it was in FL. It really shrunk to less than the MLB corners. And I'm talking MLB before they cracked down some on the zone and put in the cameras at some parks.

This is becoming stale but;


1)If FSU stole our signs....good for them and shame on us for allowing that to happen (unless they were using illegal means).

2)FSU adapted to the small zone, WSU did not. WSU teams, imho, are known for their stubborness. Sometimes that is a plus, other times not.

3)FSU was patient at the plate, WSU was not.

4)The better team, in Florida, won the Super Regional.

5)The shrinking zone certainly favored FSU more than it favored WSU. Still, refer to 4.

6)WSU could have won the Super Regional but they didn't adapt and they didn't overcome adversity.

Brent has never struck me as a guy to deal in a lot of sour grapes. He speaks his mind, and if he feels slighted he'll tell you, but from my experiences he is more likely to wear the blame then to place it elsewhere.

Well said, Doc. If Shane Dennis thought FSU was stealing the Shockers' signs, presumably he told the WSU coaches about it rather than keeping it a secret. And if so, and WSU didn't change them, whose fault is that? Meanwhile, the Shocker hitters went back into the mental dead zone they inhabited for a while earlier this year.

When the other guys can hit, and they're patient, and they may know what's coming -- except from Tim Kelley, apparently -- and your guys swing early at the bad ones and take the good ones, you are in deep doo doo -- that's a very tough combination to overcome.

I actually agree to some extent. We didn't adjust well in my opinion. I wish we had tried someone "strange" like a junkball pitcher with a top speed of 80 mph (and motion like crazy).
