  • Wichita sluggers at the Eck?

I heard some thing about the Sluggers playing at the Eck either tomorrow or Friday during the Greater Wichita Sports Comm. Catchers Clinic anyone know anything about this I would like to go. But I don't know what day or time.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Thursday night should be fun at Newman U.. The Wichita Sluggers against the Park City Rangers, or a contingent of WSU signees (for the most part) against both a soon-to-be- former and a current WSU player. Interesting.....

I think thats the million dollar question. I know lots of people that would love to go see all the new guys on the field. Its a shame all these summer league teams don't have better info available online. I've been trying to follow several teams, players, stats and cant seem to find much info at all. Just basics and half the time that info isn't accurate so Hopefully someone with ties to the sluggers program can inquire about this and let us know here on the board.

The game is slated for 6 p.m. tonight. I just noticed that the schedule states it's a double header (two 7 inning games).

            t7017s,

I've had the same problem locating information. In the Walter Johnson League, for instance, I've only found info on the Park City Rangers' home page so far. At least they post wins and losses and keep it pretty up-to-date. To be fair, the WJL home page is requesting volunteers for a variety of things, so they probably don't have the available staff to keep the sites updated.

Where did you get that info on the double header tonight? It is for the Sluggers U18 Blue team and not the red correct? The sluggers website show both the blue and the red being in Winfield the 26th -29th. Just wondering whats correct. I don't want to haul my butt somewhere only to find nothing going on after all.

According to this schedule the U16 team will be at Eck tonight and not the U18. The U18 is the team with all out guys coming in next year. Totally confusing. Maybe I'll just pick up the damn phone and call Shelly out at the university. I would think she would know exactly who the hell is playing and at what times.

t1071s is right... actually, both the 15U and 16U are at thee Eck this afternoon and evening. As far as the team that has the future Shox on it - that is the Sluggers 18U Blue team. I think they are playing starting today in a Winfield tournament, along with the Sluggers 18U Red team and the Sluggers 17U team. Here is the link to that schedule:

Just scroll down and click on the 18U bracket.

Okay, now I'm confused, because the summer league team known as the Wichita Sluggers is in the Walter Johnson League and is playing tonight against the Park City Rangers at Newman U. Their roster includes the WSU probable signee Jordan Cooper that several people in here have expressed interest in and at least four other WSU players whose names escape me at this moment. Last year the Sluggers were known as the Wichita Braves and are still listed that way in some places, which I find irritating, since I don't need any more confusion.

Since 2020 the site walterjohnsonbaseball.com is also available under the domain Legalbettingsites.info. Click here to get more information!

The above is the site where I get my info.

WSU-listed players on Wichita Sluggers summer team:

                      Jordan Cooper
                      Logan Watkins
                      Tyler Grimes
                      Remington Johnson
                      Dalton Banwart
                      Brian Flynn

And their schedule ALSO says they play the Park City Rangers tonight at 6 p.m. in a double header at Newman U.

And that's all she wrote......except that Justin Kemp (WSU pitcher) and Tyson Fugett (soon to be former? Shocker) are both listed on the Rangers' roster, and deserve to be mentioned.

Park City Rangers swept the double header last night against the Wichita Sluggers 9-1, 7-2 at Newman University.

Anyone that makes it out to this GPTOC the 17th-20th keep an eye on The Wolverines particularly a kid named Nathan Hyson. Hes a Goddard kid and has been getting serious looks from KU. I believe hes a SS and a Pitcher so he had to live in the shadow of Watkins this year but I expect him to really surprise some folks next year. Hopefully WSU will give him a look. I remember reading about him coming up big all year in clutch situations for Goddard in the eagle. I would appreciate it if anyone gets a chance to see him if they could give a report here on what they saw or what they think of the young man.
