  • Mike Williams coming?

The El Dorado Broncos roster now lists a "Mike Williams -- Wichita State."

Assuming this is correct, it's likely a Wichita product of the same name who hit .415 or so with 8 HRs and 43 RBI for a solid Northern Oklahoma College-Enid program this year as a freshman.

He's 6-3, 210 and playing 3B for El Dorado right now, so you might throw him into the mix of players vying for CG's position.

Try Kapaun, 2006 grad. I think Mike played his first year at either Garden or Dodge city in JUCO. I don't believe he was a freshman though. Maybe a red shirt.

NOC-Enid listed him as a freshman for the season that just ended. Don't know if he sat out his first year somewhere else.

He also played for the Park City Rangers in the NBC Tournament last year.

          Wuzee,

That sounds encouraging, since the Rangers won their tourney last year and finished 9th in the NBC. Thanks for the info.

Mikey is a solid player, he can really hit the ball and he has pretty good speed. I thought I remembered him playing at Garden City, but maybe he redshirted that year.

Mikey also played on that 18U Gators team with Dusty, Ryan, etc.

EDIT: Sorry - didn't see this info already posted on another thread.

Sundays paper says Ryan Scoles a Junior pitcher from Hutch Juco will walk on with Williams. Where is he playing summer ball?

                        Hmmm

We'll see how it goes, but maybe, just maybe, the pro signing of Logan Watkins doesn't quite spell Shocker doom the way KC thought it does.

Who knows -- maybe the coaches have a plan after all, and a backup plan to boot. Imagine that! Maybe Williams was even more than just the backup plan, and we simply didn't know about it.
