Didn't we knock him out early in one of our games? I seem to remember he had an off night with both arms. I know I remember KWJ switching sides whenever he did. Hard to believe anyone representing any klnd of baseball isn't clued in by now. They're supposed to know these things, right? ;-)"She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous

I don't know what the final ruling is going to be by MLB on how they'll handle this in the future, but I'm all for the batter having to declare which way he's going to bat. A switch hitter is fairly common and they always get thier advantage, but considering how rare it is for a switch pitcher I'm all for giving him that advantage on the rare occassion it pops up. I understand that the Valley makes the pitcher declare first but I'd rather it be the other way.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

That was absolutely ridiculous what the batter did in this case. I think it should be the batter has to declare which way he is gonna bat. Now if there is a pitching change mid-way through the at-bat, they should be given the option to switch at that point. But for that guy to do that was absolutely ridiculous.

Greg A. Harris, who pitched for Cincinnati, Montreal, San Diego, Texas, Philadelphia, Boston and the Yankees from 1981 to 1995, was a righty throughout his career. He pitched from the left side for two batters in the second-to-last game of his career.
Harris, (pitched with both hands as an Expo in 1995) was with six clubs over a 15-year career. When he was with Boston, word of his odd talent got out and Bobby Brown, the American League president, gave umpires these rules: The pitcher must indicate which hand he intended to use. The pitcher may change arms on the next hitter but must indicate the arm to be used. No warm-up pitches between the change of arms and if an arm is injured, the pitcher may change arms and the umpire must be notified of the injury. The injured arm cannot be used again in that game."She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous

My above post came from Wikipedia, for what it's worth. I say that because some people take that site with a grain of salt. Venditte is now in Wikipedia too. lol. However, I've read these same things on other sites today, I just couldn't remember where."She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous
