The obvious issue is, will it stop there?
I'm not sure. Baseball is one of the few sports where the rules really haven't changed over the decades, so maybe they can bring it in and it will never be used for anything beyond boundary calls. But you also can't underestimate the potential for incrementalism to creep in once the door is opened.

I have to agree with RoyalShock. If we open that pandora's box, what could be considered out of the realm of possibility? Robot umpires? Game show voting mechanisms for everyone in the stands? Once you take out the human element, you find yourself somehwere out in left field. ;-)"She is only HALF a mother who does not see HER child in EVERY child." - Anonymous

I guess there have been a number of blown HR calls this year that's sped up the process. Baseball has always been pretty slow to change anything so I don't think we have to worry about technology taking out the human element. It will never be used to call balls and strikes, but I have no problem with it being used to evaluate umpires calling balls and strikes.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Accuracy?
If you don't subscribe, he basically says that if we have the technology, we need to use it, as long as it improves accuracy without severely interrupting flow.
