  • Well.. that was a whole lot of fun..

Our future next year is looking interesting judging by the 3 guys that came in with their bats never leaving their shoulders. Geez guys, you get a chance to hit in a super regional, and you do that?

    Embarrassing.

    Props to Castor though.

No matter if it was 5-4 or 14-4, it's just one game. Let's get that underdog mentality in and see what happens.

I'd be very disappointed to win the first game and not get to Omaha. I think I heard you have an 80% success rate at getting to Omaha if you win the first one.. We'll see..

And, are we really the home team tomorrow? Doesn't make sense if we are..

    ... No really, deuces.

    • Oh and SB, the slide was no problem. The kick though was as dirty as an overflowing landfill.

You'd have to be an idiot not to know that. I don't care if you're not trying to be 'biased' or what.

        • I heard we were the away team yesterday, home team today, and home tomorrow determined before the super even began. I could be wrong but that is what I heard.

          • I don't know if anyone is superstitious or not, but the visiting team has won both game. But I'd rather take my chances being home team.

            • I heard that too. I just wanted to know if someone had actual confirmation. Not that it matters too much, but just wondering..

              • Host team is the home team the first game and the visiting team in the second game. A coin toss (held before the start of the series) determines the home team in the third game. WSU won the toss.

Here it is from page 19 of the 2008 Division I Baseball Championship Handbook.

Determination of Home Team (Super Regionals)

Two Teams Advancing With Different Regional Seeds. For game one, the higher seed will be the home team. The lower seed will be the home team in game two. An additional coin flip must take place at the pre-tournament meeting to determine the home team for game three, if necessary.

Okay, I saw it little different but I don't have TIVO to look at over and over. But if it was a cheap shot, I guess WSU was just to intimidated to respond.

                    • That is correct. And it was all decided before the games commenced. And I am very superstitous and I noticed that about the away team also. We need to kick some major butt tomorrow and show who we really are. Let's go SHOX!!!!

I have not read through this thread. FSU fans were posting (in various places) that the Shockers played dirty. Has there been much discussion of Holt's kicking and tripping Weber to allow the FSU runner to reach second safely? Do FSU fans consider this dirty play?

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

                        • If Holt had slide through the plate with his feet on the ground I wouldn't have had a problem with it as the catcher was in the path of his slide. However, this isn't what happened. He raised his feet and made contact with the back of the catcher's legs. I wasn't happy to see it at all. I would have preferred he slid similar to how he did in the first inning without any contact being made.

                          • There is at least one honest Nole: FSULongM
"Wow - revisionist history already. The catcher was about 3 feet or more behind the plate, Holt slid through the plate and gave him a kick halfway up the back of his calf, causing him to fall backwards. No harm done, but obviously intentional, people. Take the glasses off."

Most of the other posts are pathetic. Also look at http://floridastate.rivals.com/showm...d=1061&style=2

Unfortunately there may only be one (or two); I have lost all respect I ever had for FSU and its fans. A WSU student transferred to FSU; she said that the area is infested with drug dealers and homeless people and it is extremely unsafe. (Apparently people in Wichita have no idea what "unsafe" is, at least compared to the FSU area.)

                            • The FSU fans here have been nothing but polite, respectful and tremendous fans and supporters. They are not only welcome here anytime, they are an example of how one should conduct themselves not only here but everywhere.....well done Noles.

The FSU fans discussing this on Warchant consider it mostly an acceptable response or not dirty at all. Their gutty freshman standing up and making a statement. Nice.

Come on Cappy.....show the talent, heart and grit we all know you possess.

Right; "raised his feet" is the same as "gave him a kick halfway up the back of his calf, causing him to fall backwards." If you say so.
