I don't know why WSU trying to play small ball early in the game. Small ball is not going to beat FSU.
Why wouldn't you play small-ball? You've gotta do anything you can to get a lead on the #4 team in the country on their home turf,
What would getting the lead do? Is Gene then going to put the team in a four corners and run the clock out? You really think that means anything to FSU offense?

Your giving out outs to to team that one weakness seems to be their pitching. There is a time and place for bunting, the 2nd inning is not quite that time yet.

            • How many different uni designs do we have?

It seems like I've seen at least 5 or more the last few years.

                • Cardullo (DH) up for FSU. Ground ball to dusty, bobbled and got him at first.

                      • Back to their leadoff guy, tyler holt, who struck out last time. Bunt up the line right to Hill, charges and tags.

                        after 3 , 1 FSU to 0 WSU

Don't forget, T-Web is also not um...fleet of foot...so staying out of the DP was probably a factor in the decision.

                          • [I'm watching this game slightly delayed. Excuse me if I'm a little late and if some things have already been covered.]

Rob Musgrave was razor sharp in the first, throwing all but one pitch right where he wanted it. He's working up, down, in, out, and changing speeds. If he can continue to do that and hit his spots, he will keep us in this game. We will score some runs today.

Posey K - .470 hitter or not, that was a beautiful sequence of pitches by Rob. He got Posey to chase a high (up out of the zone) fastball, then threw what looked to me like a curveball (but might have been a changeup) low and away, then I think threw one just off the plate that Posey wouldn't chase, then threw a perfect changeup low and away that Posey swung through. Beautiful sequence of pitches.

The home run in the second was not a bad pitch. It was belt-high, but several inches outside. Give the hitter credit on that one. Rob got behind and paid the price.

Rob lost his control for a couple of pitches in the second, but Tyler Weber went out to talk to him and then he was fine.

                            • I guess the good news is we are out hitting them 3-1. We need to take advantage of some of those.
