Maybe I'm missing it, but isn't the whole point for writers to try and key on what the interested parties (fan base) is focusing on and debating about and write stories about it? I don't understand why using message board discussion and talk show discussion to gauge what those areas are.

We can discuss it all day amongst ourselves, but we have to depend on the media to incorporate the people that actually matter (coaches/players) into the discussions.

I think Lutz (or any modern media member) wouldn't be doing his job if he ignored message boards.

Very cool, by the way, of JT to give some props to Goodale in that article. Maybe not the easiest or most natural thing to do for a lesser guy in a discussion that is attempting to vindicate you against the naysayers. Demonstrates solid character.

In my opinion, Bob should be out in the field digging up an interesting story, not regurgitating what he read on a message board and then asking the subject to comment, that is lazy and uninspired work.

I think for some reason the fine line of acceptability is in the difference between calling something retarded and someone. I've heard it discussed elsewhere and that's pretty much the conclusion.
