The tried and true baseball axiom is that good pitching will beat good hitting. I am going to suggest that Florida state is a very good hitting team and I don't expect much argument. The question that will be answered this weekend is, how good is our pitching?
We don't have a lot of data in regards to our big 3 vs. high caliber hitting.
I truly have no idea how Musgrave will fare, has he had any outings against teams of this caliber?
Schafer is a little different story, while osu is not as good a hitting team as fsu, he did a marvelous job in the regional and looks good enough to keep us competitive in that game.
Capra on the other hand, must rise to the challenge and control 3 pitches.
another performance where he can't mix it up could be disastorous.
The bullpen, frankly our starters must go deep into the game, I believe Hoch can be effective, Mckeever possibly, but after that I don't have much faith.
In the end the old axiom should hold true, if we are as good as we hope we should advance, if not we will at least have been able to measure ourselves, and that is what competition is all about.
GOOD LUCK SHOCKERS.
