  • Info for any Shocker fans coming to Tallahassee

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here and I'll do my best to answer them.

All parking around the stadium is free. With the games being earlier in the day and school being out, you shouldn't have a problem as long as you arrive at least 30 minutes to an hour early. We'll have a decent sized tailgate about 200 yards from the RF wall in the football stadium parking lot under some large oak trees that you all are welcome to walk up to. Bring some brews and some meat and if you want anything thrown on a grill, it shouldn't be a problem.

Hotels around the stadium area are all fairly nice. Any that you see on Monroe St or Apalachee Pky will be within 5-10 minutes from the stadium. You really can't go wrong with the exception of the Prince Murat...don't stay there unless you like hotels which allow you to rent by the hour if you know what I mean.

As far as food goes, Tallahassee has mostly chain type restaurants. There are a few mom and pop places and if you'd like a certain type of food I can point you in the right direction.

You won't have too much of a problem out of any of our fans as long as you're respectful, obviously. Section 4 and 5 on the first baseline is where the Animals sit and while it can get quite rowdy, we do our best to keep it 'clean and classy'. Our group of about 75 fans stand for a good part of the game so if you are in (or mainly behind) this section, be prepared.

Hope you enjoy your visit. Looking forward to a great series between two schools with a rich baseball history.

I would recommend staying at the Double Tree Hotel downtown (most of the teams stay there). Friday night check out Andrews for dinner and drinks (right across the street from the hotel) and then head out to Bullwinkle’s. Saturday night go to AJ’S on Tennessee st.

Thanks for the hospitality. It's curious that the Okie State folks never offered up this kind of information.

Don't the OSU fans deny that there was any real rivalry anymore with WSU? At least prior to last weekend?

        Yeah, right.

I think your observation is evidence to the contrary.

The de-lux Super 8 was already claimed for all of the regionals participants, the single-wides were all being used at the moment, they wanted to make sure we didn't invade the city's prime shopping mecca- Wal-Mart, and they were afraid that the additional load of WSU fans parking in their gravel and dirt lots possibly ruining the muddin' season.

I would highly recommend coming to Tallahassee if you can at all manage it. The baseball facility is one of the best in the country. The Animals of Section B are an absolute riot (even to the opposing teams- check them out on YouTube). It's one of the most welcoming atmospheres to opposing fans I have ever seen. And the "scenery" will completely blow your mind. As bad of a time as I hope you have watching your team, the experience would be worth it.

I was impressed by the crowd just listening to the game on the radio last night. I wish I could make it down there, sounds like a blast.

The group most responsible for what you hear on the radio... http://www.sectionb.com and a thread on Warchant.com about one of the things that makes The Animals so great...http://floridastate.rivals.com/showm...D=1061&Style=2
