I'm not opposed to the idea. Bottom line: if we need him Friday or Saturday, we'll use him Friday or Saturday.

I do think McKeever and Hoch have earned the opportunity to try to close out those games if Musgrave and Shafer get us to the 8th inning. They both pitched fabulously under pressure on Sunday.

Just in case, you have not been watching, the roof is creaking. That is all I have to say about that.

the bullpen is in need of help it onlly takes one bad inning against fsu and you re down by 6 so capra has innings and experience to be a show stopper as far as a game 3 starter figure it out when the time comes

As Rob's pitch count goes up and his continued close calls, (I hate to say it), if Capra can't hold a six run lead, he's no good to us Sunday. He may be our best bet on shuting the door.

Good call Gene. That didn't hurt him a bit for Sunday.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Gene is pushing the right buttons here in the post-season. Our hitters heads are right, and our pitchers are doing what they need to do.

I also like the way Gene is thinking outside the box, first in using McKeever in game 3 of the regional and then again today, and then going to Capra to get us the last out. You are right about that "bulldog" mentality. He had a don't f%ck with me look about him.

On the opposite side, Hoch had the look of the world caving in on him. It was time to pull him.
And you're right - Capra had 'The Look' of a deadly serious young man as soon as he stepped on the mound. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

I agree about Hoch. He didn't get a couple of calls and it may have rattled him a bit, and then he couldn't find the strike zone. He started off GREAT though, striking out Posey for cryin' out loud. Not too many people accomplish that.

Hoch has really good stuff. Brent just needs to work on his brain a little more. That's not meant as an insult, I just mean he needs to learn to deal with those situations better.
