behind the same guy that shut us out in what now must be clearly viewed as the game that woke us up and got us fired up for this very fun stretch run we are on.
I find it interesting that 6 Big 12 teams made regionals yet, 5 are officially knocked out and the lone team remaining (Texas A&M) is having to play a second championship game tomorrow night... Damn I wish we could play in the Big 12... It would be so much fun to dominate that conference!

idk if we'd dominate it. but i think we'd fit in nicely. we'd probably lead the league in attendance.

That'd be a negative.
There're several teams in the Faux12 who have fan support similar to ours.
I think Texas and Nebraska would leads us in actual butts in seats, and A&M, Tech, and Baylor can pack it in at times as well.
But yeah, I'd love to see us playing B12 weekend series', and the bump in exposure and recruiting it would give us. I'd say we'd be a perennial top 4 in the B12, with the occasional #1.

You don't think we'd have more butts in seats, if we had the likes of Texas, Baylor, Nebraska, Mizzou and others in for a weekend series against the Shox? (Instead of Evansville, Northern Iowa, and Indiana St.?)
We'd most certainly be in the top 3 in attendance, every year.

Legitimate point.

I'm not saying we wouldn't- and I think my post reflected that, but I don't think we'd ever lead the B12 in attendance.

Hell, I'd bet we'd be in their top 4 right now.
Sure we would, I wasn't arguing back to that level. Just stating that there are a couple of schools in the B12 with very, very strong attendance, and a couple more who can pack it in during successful seasons.
I wasn't downplaying our attendance numbers, just debating the opinion of us being the top dog in attendance as a B12 member.
EDIT: I think I see the rub. The last sentence in my OP had nothing to do with attendance numbers. I was referring to team finishes.
4. Texas 5,380 per game
5. Nebraska 5,092 per game
9. Texas A&M 4,478
13. WSU 3,751
Five to six thousand fans per game in a 3 game series vs. Nebraska, Texas, A&M etc. would boost our attendance a lot.
But playing WSU would certainly boost the attendance of others as well. But we would have them all to boost our figures, each of them would have only one series every other year to boost theirs.

A physician called into a radio show and said: "That's the definition of a stool sample."

I have the 2007 NCAA numbers on my home computer somewhere. IIRC we were in the 9-11 range and our average was higher than UNL. Our total season attendance was also ridiculous due to the R and SR we hosted.
No idea why the NCAA has not officially added the 2007 numbers to their site. Too busy "supporting the student-athlete", and raking in tens of milllions of dollars in the process, I guess.
It would be nice to play those teams every weekend. Then we could pad our mid-week schedule with the MVC type teams. So basically flip what we do now.
I really don't think 5000 a game would be unrealistic at all against those types of teams. Plus you'd get KU and KSU for 3 games series as well. OSU and OU are close too. UNL isn't far. MU is pretty close. Those would be able to draw decent crowds and the Texas and Baylor and Tech series I'm sure would draw big. With those guesses, 6000 might not be unrealistic on nice days.
What are Gene's records against the Big 12 teams? I think the Shocks would have a team with the potential to finish first in the Big 12 every year (but not necessarily always win the Big 12 because there would be other teams with the same potential). I think the Shocks would win the season or tourney title in the conference frequently.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful: Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
