    The Missouri Valley Conference has reprimanded Wichita State baseball player Conor Gillaspie for critical comments he made this week in the media about league voting for all-conference awards.

    Conference rules prohibit public criticism of the conference by coaches and student-athletes.

    Further violations of the league's sportsmanship code could result in additional penalties, including game suspension.

        A game suspension for what at this point? One of the MVC tourney games? They'll be long over before another one of his bluntly honest comments makes it's way to the homers at the main office.

          It's just like in basketball -- players and coaches can't openly criticize the refs (even if they suck big time).

            He only said what everybody else thought and knows about the situation. Anybody but Dirks winning the MVP award was a joke.

                      Last night Kobbe said there was no punishment, but kind of a probation that if he violates a rule again he may be punished in some way, perhaps suspension from playing a game or more.
