Ugly losses suck and are basically vomit on any post season resume.
So far they have 3 - InSU, UCA and OU.
Obviously in the case of OU, it's not the name but more the manner in which they kicked it away. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Doesn't make it a whole lot easier: but it does happen to pretty much everyone.

Does the same principle in basketball apply in baseball when a "David" gets a shot against "Goliath"?

UCA had to be absolutely PUMPED to get a chance to play Wichita State. Now I realize we just aren't as good as we thought we were, but some losses, especially comparitive ones like UCA vs. TAMU-CC, can be put into perspective.

I think it might Royal, but I don't necessarily think you can classify WSU as a goliath this year. They are just a mediocre (at best) baseball team that has gotten beat up on by teams that would have only dreamed about it a few years ago.

                So?

In baseball, stuff happens, especially when you use your second-line pitchers and they have an off night. After all, WSU scored nine against UCA, too (admittedly, it should have been more) -- the problem was that the Shocks gave up 10 that night.

Still, the Islanders also have a couple of wins over the same UT-San Antonio team that recently whipped Texas 7-1. So you can play lots of games with comparative scores, and they mean even less in baseball than they do in other sports.
