    - The status of Northern Iowa ace Nick Kirk is in doubt. Kirk left his Saturday start against SIU after five innings with tightness in his forearm.

    Kirk missed two weeks earlier this month with the same ailment. He threw a no-hitter March 28 against Evansville.
    “The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ...     I expect him to pitch against the Shocks.

      probably wouldn't matter - if he's out they would throw some soft throwing pitcher with a breaking ball and he would eat the Shox alive.

        I really think historically we do better against a team's proven ace than against the #4 guy who has given up 18 hits in 8 innings.
