  • Shox versus Trees

Well, saying we need to go 3-0 this weekend would be an understatement. ISU has only won 11 games this year so we have a shot. They have won only 4 games against the Top RPI 100 (0 fer in the Top 50), but with that said, they have been fairly competitive in these games. They don't really get blown out.

In their 13 losses to the Top 100 (College of Charleston, South Florida, Arizona, Ole Miss, and Missouri), their average run differential is only 4.23 runs. They have played a pretty difficult schedule - ranked 68th - and if it wasn't for the conference games, this SOS would be higher.

I think this series will be closer than most will anticipate. I don't see the Shox venting their frustration on this team, based on ISU's run differential against very good teams, they've shown they can compete.

I used to fear, after losses like tonight, for the safety of our next opponents.

I just don't feel it anymore.

After setting myself up for so much disappointment, I'm just gonna go ahead and predict another 2 outta 3-er and not get surprised.

    ... No really, deuces.

I wonder if they will play 2 on Saturday as weather.com has Terre Haute with a 60% chance of rain on Sunday.

I like moving the top 4 back to how it was early in the season. Stick with what works

              Bases loaded with one out.

Weber fouls out and Caster strikes out.

ISU playing for one run in the 1st. Interesting.

And people still think our offense is going to turn around. This is ridiculous. Gene should resort to squeeze plays in this scenario, it may be the only way we can score.

Right now Rob doesn't seem to be fooling anybody.

Good running catch by Kenny Williams to save extra bases for the 2nd out.

Rob does get a strike out to end the 1st with a runner in scoring position.

Not a good start for the Shocks, but at least it is very early and we have plenty of game left get it going.
