WSU opponents have hit a grand total of 12 in 37 games.

Well, KU matched our effort in 12 games with tonight's game. Let me get back with you on the rest. Remember, chicks dig the long ball and I'm tired of not seeing it against top teams. How are the Shox supposed to steal the other players girlfriends by not going yard?

Counting tonight he is 5 for 21, but 3 of those hits came in the Sunday game against SIU.

We could really use Mckeever's bat to get really hot here over the next couple weeks, especially with all of the injuries we are battling. He had a lot of really good cuts tonight.

Weber also swung the bat well tonight despite going 0-3. He hit the ball hard all 3 times.

Well, tomorrow McKeever has an opportunity to make his former team regret for never giving him a chance. That would be some nice karma. I'd love to see Kelly and McKeever punish OSU.

I was very impressed with Caster tonight ... He really has a quick bat and isn't afraid to let his hands go. Also very comfortable in the outfield ... didn't seem nervous ... showed a good arm.

Plus .... there's something comforting about seeing No. 20 in right field. : )

Kohl Nanney was nails. I actually thought Matt Smith had good stuff but his head didn't seem to be in the game. Admittedly, baseball is not my game but when you can throw gas at 91-94 and your duece is 71 you ought to be tough to hit.

Kohl Nanney was an absolute bulldog tonight. He showed no fear and he acted like he wanted the game on his arm.

Matt Smith continues to be a mystery man. Has the tools, but just has not been able to develop command of the strike zone.

Kemnitz did not seem real happy about the 2nd home run.

Not sure they really wanted to used Kohl Nanney tonight but circumstances sort of dictated it.

Hopefully, Kelley, Kemp, Hoch and Womack are up to keeping OSU under control tomorrow evening.

I agree that was a dynamite throw and great play to get the plucker out at the plate. More than anything though, I think it was a very DUMB decision to send him in the first place. There was no way he was gonna score and if he had stayed KU woulda had runners on 2nd and 3rd with no out.

That was definitely a key play in the game though, gift or not. Still a great throw anyways.

Bingo. While Smith definitely brought the heat, he had no movement with his pitches at all whatsoever and they were pretty much dead and center on the plate. When he first entered, he looked like a stud, big and broad, and throwing the heat.. and I started wondering why this guy wasn't in more. Then after a couple of rocket launches to left-center, I realized why.

It was a perfect night for baseball indeed. Very nice to see all the bandwagon Hawkie fans filing out in their championship tees. When we scored 6 in the 4th and was still batting, I overheard a couple Hawkies ask if there's a limit on runs scored in an inning.. no joke..

Gotta love the idiots.
