A few runs? It's going to take mor than 2 runs to win these games. How about a few 10 spots, that'll do. ;-)

Also, why stop at Fleming...how about throwing Hoch into the weekday rotational? Perhaps not this week but I'd still consider it.

I just hope we can roast some hawk on a spit on Tuesday so that Wednesday we have everything in our arsenal to take care of OSU, save for the three weekend starters.

Is this actually happening or is it just your recommendation?

During the midweek, it hasn't been about our pitching. It's about our hitting. Cant' win if you can't score..

                    Real

It's being reported as actually happening, Claren. About time, I'd say.

Fever is right, though -- as Hawk Harrelson would say, the Shocks do need to put a few points on the board. For example, the start Kelley provided against Nebraska, along with the bullpen follow-up, ought to be good enough to give you a chance to win in college baseball, especially against a team's second-line pitching. And yet the Shocks never really had a chance. So WSU definitely needs to get out of its annual hitting slump.

I suspect he will throw after Fleming, who will probably go only 5 innings. He can pitch two or even three innings and still be available this weekend.

No doubt Tyler Fleming will only go 4 or 5 innings at the most, depending on pitch count.

Got a lot of other guys in the bullpen needing some work.

Justin Kemp may very well be the first guy out behind Tyler Fleming.

                            Andy Womack needs some work.

Dusty Coleman could use an inning of work.

Would be nice if we could get a lead and see what Matt Smith can bring to the table.

Grant Muncrief and Clint McKeever could use some work also, if the right situation presented itself.

Should have plenty of fresh arms (maybe too fresh) this week. Hopefully, the starters will hang in there long enough that we can use the arms available on our terms.

I have wished for Kelley to be moved to Wednesdays, to start against OU, OSU, and ASU, but starting Fleming hadn't crossed my mind. But since Fleming didn't pitch at all this weekend, it makes sense. He was a work-horse early in the year, actually leading in innings pitched at one time, but with our weekend starters now giving us a reliable 7+ innings, it makes sense to use him as a spot starter.
