I really don’t think they should have played the game today, the weather was way too nice and someone may have been injured.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

Playing baseball without protection will possibly lead to cancer. I hope WSU doesn't get name in a lawsuit 20 years from now. It was a very dangerous afternoon.

We need Workman back in the line up. We could try Williams as lead off Jones 2nd Conor 3rd and Andy clean up with Dusty 5th and Bret 6th as the DH Tyler and Tyler followed by Josh Workman if he is ready? I hope we get this slump out of the way in a hurry.

Got lucky Mo. St and Bradley split and Northern Iowa and Creighton also split no ground lost in the league anyway. Lost ground in the polls though.

Get shut out twice in a week. Great! That's how you impress the selection committee.

By the way, I can only think of two Casey's who played for the Shox, Casey Davis and Casey Walkup, can anyone else think of a Casey who played for us from the 90's on? I ask because I think one just bought a house two doors down from me - very exciting.

                    What?

Well, actually, the best known Shocker Casey was Casey Blake, who was an all-American third baseman on the '96 CWS team.

Has to be Walkup since Davis lives in LA and Blake probably doesn't reside in Wichita.

                          Anyone hear that?

That's the sound of our hosting chances going down the drain.

Looks like our bats finally have gotten back to their mid-21st century norm and have started to suck.

Very disappointing. Not good if we only have one Valley sweep so far this year. Pretty sad we couldn't take advantage of UNI and MSU both losing.

                          Bye, bye Top 10!

                          ... No really, deuces.

Sorry, you'll have to do the pity party alone. Losing one game against SIU doesn't close that opportunity.

It's not over till it over. Lot of games to be played yet. Shox still control their destiny. 1st thing is they must win Sunday. 2nd they must win the MVC, 3rd they need to win some high profile Non-Conference games.

Of course, I have my concerns like:

                            1. No hitting at 2b with workman out.
                            2. No production at DH, might as well let the pitchers bat.
                            3. Bullpen questions
                            4. No effective No. 5 starter
                            5. An offense that has been shutout twice in a week - WSU used to measure time between shutouts in years, not days.

Will they be able overcome these shortcomings? I guess we'll see over the next month.

                              1. Agree. Hope that will be fixed soon.
                              2. It is not a good sign that this position hasn't been settled by now.
                              3. I think we are okay-Hoch, Fleming, and Nanney will get the majority of the innings;
                              4. Is Maldanado going to redshirt?
                              5. Wish I could blame this on the lighter bats.

I know it is against his grain, but Gene may need to start breaking out some small ball. When is the last time we hit a home run, sans the hurricane series with the Bears?

Five teams in top ten lost Saturday, number 5 UC Irving lost to UC Riverside. Everyone get beat. 10 teams in top 30 got beat. we still look ok.
