Does he go solely on Power Conference's and RPI. Our RPI according to Boyds World is .591 compared to Oregon State's who is .594, our record overall is 27-6, 25-6 DI and Oregon State is 16-12 overall and he has them hosting over us and some other more deserving teams.THERE ARE FLOCKS OF BIRDS AND MANY A CAT ------ BUT ONLY ONE WUSHOCK!

Charlie what is your take on 9 SEC teams being in the projection? Am I correct in that 8 qualify for th SEC tournament? If that is the case, then I don't understand how they can justify putting a team in that doesn't even qualify for it's own conference tournament. To me there should be some rule stating that, then if the conference wanted to change and expand so be it, but until then, I don't think it is fair. If I was a member of the SEC it might piss me off a little too, as far as that team is sitting at home for a week resting it's entire staff while the other teams might be taxing their staffs trying to win the tournament and risking injury to the roster. Owe well just projections but I know it has happened in the past, if I remember right Mississippi State was in a few years ago and didn't qualify for the SEC tournament. Don't get me wrong the SEC is a great conference and I have no issue with 8 getting in it is just that 9th team that bothers me.THERE ARE FLOCKS OF BIRDS AND MANY A CAT ------ BUT ONLY ONE WUSHOCK!

I don't think the SEC will get 9 teams in. I don't believe the conference is very good this year. Maybe the teams that get into the NCAAs will prove me wrong.
I don't really see anything wrong with a conference getting teams into the NCAA tournament that don't make the SEC tournament. I don't know off the top of my head how many at-large bids there are but the purpose of selecting those is to get the BEST at-large teams and sometimes there are going to be 9 worthy SEC teams.
It has happened before and I certainly wasn't mad as a fan of one of those teams that made the SEC Tournament. I want to see the other teams in my conference do well in post-season play. (Except for Ole Miss)
All that being said, I hate the SEC tournament and wish we would eliminate it all together. For these reasons...
-We only play 10 conference series. Eliminating the tournament would mean everybody would play everybody. This would be much more telling in determining the best team than a tournament. Plus several times there have been ties for the SEC Championship where the two teams didn't play that year.
-Plus, having an extra conference weekend at home every other year, when the weather is nice, means a lot of revenue for the schools.
-Most teams will save or be really careful with their pitching anyway.
-Nobody could complain that a team that didn't make the SECT gets a NCAA bid. haha.
-It's always in ALABAMA! Not fair. (Kind of a big deal for me since I'm never going to go since I will save my money for possible regional/super/Omaha trip.) I wish it could be in Memphis every once in a while.
