Shockers (21-22) play the Wildcats (24-20) in Manhattan at 6:30 CST this evening. Anticipated starters are Keylan Kilgore (LHP, 0-1, 4.95) and Jared Marolf (RHP, 2-0, 3.29).

KSU's RPI sits at 98 and WSU's is currently 146. Statistically, the two teams are pretty similar: KSU hits .270 vs. .265 for WSU, KSU's ERA is 4.56 vs. 4.75 for WSU. KSU does hit for considerably more power than the Shocks (44 HR vs. 24) and runs more often as well (48 SBs vs. 29).

Keylan has fared well in the early innings of his recent starts but has struggled to survive the 5th inning - hopefully this evening is a breakthrough for him.

The stats are very similar, the main difference appears to be the SoS (KSU - 52, WSU - 112) and the record vs the top 100 RPI teams (KSU 11-16, WSU 2-14). The Wildcats are 4-11 at the bottom of the Big 12 (#1 ranked RPI conference). It will be interesting to see if that is a noticeable difference or if the two teams are as evenly matched on the field as on paper.

Boy, too many Shocker pitchers walking too many lately. Keylan Kilgore walks 3 in the second including walking in the 1st run of the game.

Kigore out. Chase Sanburn in. Bases loaded, two outs with leading average hitter and a guy hitting .434 with RISP.

Chandler induce a ground ball 5-4 force out to end the threat without furher damage.

I beleive that was Alec Bohm and Willin Shwanke with back-to-back doubles.

Alec has really been swinging the bat well lately. Finally figured out most teams were pitching him away and he taken of ton of balls up the middle and to right field during his hot streak.
