I guess that answers my question about what happened to Landon Holifield. Pretty egregious to come in with an 11-1 lead and walk the bases loaded. Not that the game is danger but you don't have to be particularly fine and edgy with your pitches with a 10 run lead against a team of Illinois State's caliber.

Egregious is a good way to describe it. The 2nd guy Hollifield walked had a 0.206 BA & the 3rd guy has a 0.229 BA

McGinness escaped the jam to preserve the run rule win, 11-1. Good showing against a poor opponent.

Shocks lead 3-1 to the 2nd. Redbirds lucky to escape with it that close as a fly ball double play ends the inning with Troutwine thrown out at the plate.

Man, Alex Jackson has made some phenomenal catches the last few weeks.

Chris Wimmer's story in the top of the 3rd about pantsing Doug Mirabelli in Terre Haute was pretty good.

7-1 to the 4th. Shocker hitters have been pretty disciplined today.

Illinois State scores 2 in the 5th and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Chase Sanburn came on in relief of Cody Tyler and strikes out the 2 batters he faced to prevent further damage. Very nice work by Chase.

Shocks get 1 back in their half of the 5th on a lead off single by Trey Vickers followed by a triple by Travis Young.

Shocks lead 8-3 and should be able to push Travis across the plate as well.

Luke Ritter strikes out but Jordan Boyer doubles to left to make it 9-3.

Sanburn not quite so sharp in the 6th. Walk, Wild Pitch, Strikeout, Triple, Single, Passed Ball, Ground Out to SS, Walk. 2 runs allowed. Connor Lungwitz on in relief and gets a ground out to SS to end the inning.

9-5 after 6 complete.

Shocks pick up a run in the bottom of the 8th to make it 10-5.

Reagan Biechler in to at least start the 9th inning. Connor Lungwitz with 2.1 innings of very solid relief work. 7 up and 7 down.

Reagan sets the Redbirds down in order as the Shocks sweep the DH as they should against this Illinois State team.

Looks pretty iffy as to whether the final game of the series will get played or not.
