The pitching has been pretty solid throughout the series for the most part. On the other hand it is difficult to know for sure what to attribute that to. I'm not sure Cal Poly's bats are any more of a threat to our pitchers than Shocker bats have been a threat to CP pitchers. Maybe it's the umpires. Relief pitching is by far the most pleasant surprise of this young season. Our starters should never go more than 5 innings unless they are in an amazing groove like Lewis yesterday. Below is my plan for relief pitching until it needs to change. Although, I think Steele seems to be doing very well with what he has to work with.
6th and 7th innings - Rotate Sanburn and Evans pitching the 6th and 7th every other game.
8th and 9th innings - Rotate Keller, Holifield, and Biechler giving two of these three one inning each per game. See below:
Friday - Keller 8th, Holifield 9th
Saturday - Biechler 8th, Keller 9th
Sunday - Holifield 8th, Biechler 9th
