Shocks only left 2 runners on base. LSU left 3 runners on base in their half of the 1st. Okay, so 3 had already scored.

          Go.
          Walk hitters.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

Shocks get runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs in the 2nd. Travis Young flies out to end the inning.

A telling stat. Young coming into that at bat was hitting .429 with 2 outs but only .182 with RISP. A lot of meaningless hits and few clutch hits?

Just wait until the next phase of the Baseball stadium is done! Then, you can underutilize Top 10 facilities in the country!

Does anyone else think that they longer guys play for HCTB that the worse they get?

Adam Keller coming into pitch with 0.00 ERA - any guesses of what it will be after he leaves?

                      LSU announcers on WSU

This has not been a good weekend for Wichita State, the starting pitching hasn't been very good, defense sloppy....It has been a pot hole filled weekend
                      Slight understatement

They only let him face 4 hitters.

Good showing. I wonder if WSU will avoid the shutout again the second day in a row in the 9th against some scrub pitcher.

Somewhere around the midpoint last year I checked to see how many players had improved upon a previous year here over the course of Butler's tenure. At that point it was 44% of pitchers and 42% of hitters that had improved in any particular year as compared to the previous year. I might try to update that sometime soon.

                              The evidence:

The Shocks are 7-0 against UVU (3-12), GCU (8-4) and Omaha (1-14)

The Shocks are 1-6 against LaTech (13-2), OU (17-2) and LSU (12-4). While OU's records is gaudy there schedule has been outside a 2-1 series win over Long Beach State.

                              The conclusion:

It would appear the Shocks can play well at home against less than stellar competition but not so much on the road against good competition. Even in the win over OU they struck out 18 times. I am not sure what this tells us for sure. It appears to me that we have a pitching staff that can control weaker teams and maybe a good team on occasion. However, the pitching probably is not good enough to carry a team that is somewhat defensively and challenged and seemingly anemic offensively.

Maybe Valley Coaches knew what they were doing when the picked the Shocks as a middle-of-the-pack Valley team. The Shocks were picked to finish in a 4th place tie with Indiana State. The Sycamores split a 4-game series with #12 Washington in Seattle this weekend.
