A Chanticleer is by definition cocky aren't they?

      Do you like the CWS?
Ummm, no. When I first came to Omaha, I dove in, head first. I got on the waiting list, and in acouple of years, thanks to some outside help, I had a pair of seats. I tried to love it, really I did. Each year, just like everyone else, I would pick a team to follow, and then pretend they were my team. When my team got knocked out, I'd shift to team number two. So on, and so on. Just like everyone else. But along the way, I realized I just didn't care. It was usually extremely hot, the games were long and boring. , and generally lacked depth in talent. The talent just wasn't there. I grew bored at the games and spent less and less time inside. I started spending a ton of time on 13th Street and would often just sell my seats. The last year at Rosenblatt, I think I spent the equivalent of one complete game actually inside the stadium. When they moved to TD, I was already sick of the thing, but I bought my tickets anyway. They doubled in price. I think I made it through four innings the first game, and I was done. Never again,

I get it if your school makes it, but God almighty otherwise that thing sucks!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

What time is the game and is it on ESPN?

CCU is a reminder of what WSU did once upon a time, and gives hope that if they can do this, WSU should at least be able to be relevant in Omaha once again.

Sure, CCU is sunbelt whereas WSU isn't, but the Big South is more mid-major than the Valley is, even in baseball. And WSU has plenty of resources. So there's certainly hope, and this CWS run highlights that. But it's also a matter of whether WSU has the right program leadership to (a) dream big enough, and (b) execute on that dream.

Guy has given up 1 run (a home run) and has pitched 2 complete games. He is the ultimate junk baller and has a 68 mile slider that has been eating guys up. He would easily throw a no hitter against some of those JT teams that couldn't handle that kind of pitching. . ;)

I saw this interesting tidbit from earlier tonight on Twitter:

"In less than 26 hours, Coastal Carolina changes conferences (Big South to Sun Belt) and changes apparel providers (Russell to Under Armour)."

Well, we know that some around here consider the Sun Belt to be a pretty big deal.

Actually, it was 10th in baseball RPI this past season (vs. 17th for the Big South), and with LaLa and South Alabama it has a couple of teams that are frequently pretty good. So it is a legitimate step up.

The Chanticleers score 4 unearned runs (although it did include a 2-run home run) in the top of the 6th to take a 4-0 lead.

How can all 4 runs be unearned if someone hit a homerun? Isn't at least the hitter considered an earned run?

Any run that scores after the third out should have been made is considered unearned.

An error was made that would have been the 3rd out before any of the 4 runs. Right or wrong any runs scored after that error in that inning are scored as unearned.

Arizona picks up 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 6th and knocks out the CCU starter. After 6 complete CCU leads 4-2.
