It took me over a decade to start enjoying the College World Series again, it was just to painful. The departure of Gene and the current state of the program has lifted the fog. Knowing that we have no chance to make it back anytime soon has helped I suppose. Without a doubt, this has been the most enjoyable CWS for me since the late 90's. Anyways, it is down to the final four as it has come down to AZ (2-1) vs Ok State (2-1) in the first game tomorrow followed by CCU (2-1) vs TCU (2-1). Both winners advance to the National Championship 3 game series. Personally, I am pulling for CCU to win the whole works in a walk off heart breaking homer vs the Pokes. However, my gut says AZ wins it with pitching. I encourage my fellow Shox alumni and fans to give it a try tomorrow, I bet you have forgotten how much fun it is.

I haven't forgotten, I just don't have time to watch it. I've caught bits and pieces of games, I just can't get into it as much anymore with WSU no longer being relevant and probably not being relevant anytime in my lifetime again. I've gotten way more into softball, I watched almost all of the super regionals and WCWS. It is nice to see so much parity in this CWS though. I'm good with any of the 3 teams except TCU. Ultimately I'd vote for a CCU vs. Arizona championship series, but I won't be surprised if it's an all-B12 series.

The South Carolina Gamecocks knock out the Texas Bible Thumpers. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

From the Omaha World Herald:
The announced attendance of 9,326 was the lowest total in the CWS since the tournament moved to TD Ameritrade Park. Rain before the game may have scared people away, though the sun poked out from overcast skies in the second inning and continued shining much of the game.
The crowd Saturday afternoon follows a trend of low turnout at this year's College World Series. The CWS is on track for the lowest average per-game attendance since the move from Rosenblatt Stadium in 2011.There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Or maybe people are finally figuring out that the CWS sucks. Much more fun outside the stadium than watching games inside. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. I generally pull for west coast teams at the CWS but I think I have to be all in on CCU tonight. Always liked that program. They are pretty cocky though but nothing compared to the choreographed crap that Arizona is pulling. 'Cleers going to do it tonight I think. Conway, SC is gonna be lit.
