  • Fan's Point of View

Hello Shocker baseball fans! My name is Tommy Barnhouse and I will be pitching for Wichita State next year. As a way to get more insight on the program, I would like to hear the fans point of view as it differs from the coaches (of course). So I ask all to please give me their point of view on anything about the program. I'm extremely excited to play next year, and I hope to see y'all root on the Shocks!

In the past, players have been discouraged from reading posts on Shockernet...the negativity can be a tad bit overwhelming. My son played for the Shockers and he told me to stay off the net. Just food for thought. Congratulations to your adventure with the Shockers. I'll look forward to watching you pitch. All the Best

The Shocks are definitely looking to rebuild their pitching. A great opportunity there for those that can make it happen. That said just work hard and compete hard. Best of luck to you Tommy.

How are the current crop of freshmen pitchers? Are any redshirting? Any young potential on the staff?

          Welcome, Tommy.

Nasty slider down. Way down. Dirt down. Think Tommy John.

It is a great ball park. Load it with fans and you will think you have died and gone to heaven.

I don't believe Freshmen Gabe Constantine or Keylan Killgore have pitched this year so I assume they are redshirting. The four freshmen that have pitched this year have a combined ERA of 7.74 over 107 innings pitched. They have given up 141 hits for an opponent batting average of .319.

Welcome Tommy! The Shockers need pitching badly. There appears to be a lot of potential for new guys to come in and get lots of quality innings.
