I am afraid that is one incident that WSU is stuck with that will always be brought up. It is a black mark on the program that will not go away and someone is always going to be around to remind fans of it.

Yes. I got the impression that Gene couldn't really understand why IllSt didn't want to play, although he repeated the stated reason that was given (field was unsuitable for play), but Gene sounded like he was over it. Gene was also contrite in his comments about the Christensen/Molina incident and said that he and Brownlee now have a good relationship. Perhaps we're all trying to make a bigger deal out of the whole thing than it really is. Maybe the field WAS soft, and they felt a warm sunny day might help.

On the other hand, maybe they're just chicken and were hoping to get out of a game or two vs. WSU.

On the KNSS show, Shane said some of the players were pretty upset when they got back to the hotel on Friday.

I'm sure winning 3 games didn't hurt anyone's attitude.
