Home plate umpire was garbage and the dugout and coach butler let him know it more than a few times.
Te closer was extremely inconsistent the whole inning he pitched, couldn't stay above ankle level.

Batting and runners left on base was awful.
No way ever both batters in the bottom of the 9th should strike out looking, let alone looking in 5 of 6 strikes, pathetic.

Yup. Put the ball in play and make the other team make plays.

Maybe they were waiting for the ump to place the ball on a tee for them.

It wouldn't be modern day Shocker baseball if they didn't put a sour taste in your mouth to end the weekend.

            Unfreakingbelievable.

With the strikeout situation, why do I get the feeling we were duped by the first 2 games?

ORU will let us know what we have... quickly.

The ump dudnt want anything to do with the shocker players. I saw him constantly chirping at them.

Not so sure ORU will tell us much. They dropped two games to Indiana State over the weekend. Their pitchers are only averaging 3 strike outs per game and their offense only managed 7 total runs in the two games against ISU (blue). Should be a pretty easy win for us Tuesday.

Easy win? After we just dropped one to Northern Colorado? lol

Or, maybe ISUb is better than we thought. Regardless, ORU will be a step up. If it hadn't been for Bear pitching giving up so many walks over the first two games, the score differential would not have been as bad. Credit the Shox for taking pitches, but something tells me it wasn't hard to gauge a ball out of the strike zone from the Bears as they were consistently throwing only 70 - mid 80s mph pitches.

But yet again, this team seems to struggle with the breaking ball and I'm sure ORU already knows.

A few bright spots, but the loss yesterday was discouraging. You have to win those games.

Well, I would wager their pitching staff's strike out rate goes up after our game.

Remember when we all thought replacing JT would fix things? Yeahhhhh. So. The downward slide continues. I love that we sometimes take walks, but I'd prefer 9 guys going up their trying to mash the s#!+ out of the 82mph first-pitch fastball they know is coming.

I should have known not to expect too much from this crew.

I don't think you know what you're talking about? Did you watch the game or just look at the end score and assume it's on him. The hitting was awful, and he did a great job in my opinion. Do some research next time!

You know you lost when your comeback is "Everyone is entitled to their opinion"

Chase could have pitched better. All things considered first out going 5.1 isnt horrible. Thats the only thing he can do better. his ERA would look alot better. Cut back on the walks. But like I said, its the first outing of the year. Overall it was a pretty solid.
So if you're gonna hang this loss on him you'd be better served as making a numerical list and putting him i dunno maybe 5 th or 6th
