  • MVC RPI (March 17, 2008)

    Froim Warren Nolan http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2008/rpi

    17 - Wichita State (9-3)
    53 - Illinois St. (9-5)
    64 - Indiana St. (4-10)
    68 - SWMO (11-4)
    151 - CU (11-4)
    221 - SIU (7-7)
    238 - UNI (6-8 )
    239 - Bradley (4-7)
    283 - Evansville (1-14)

What a bunch of RPI killers this conference is. Every other week will be like playing Hawaii-Hilo without the benefits.

    [edit] fixed Evansville

Go to the link provided. You'll see them at 283. The OP just mistakenly listed UNI twice, once in UE's slot.

One thing that is becoming increasingly clear - WSU will probably need to be almost perfect in MVC play just to hold their ground and will really need to do well during mid-week games.

Why is WSU listed at 9-3? ADDED: My Bad!! I looked at the site below but miscounted. :(

I’m everything a gentleman could wish for. I have silky long hair, sensual lips, shapely natural bust and the perfect long legs that seems to go forever.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

              Calm down

No need to panic about the MVC so soon, SB.

At this point in the season things can still change pretty quickly, as we've seen with the Shocks. After the Long Beach mishap, WSU's RPI was pretty bad as well. So it's entirely possible some of the other Valley teams will pick up the pace, too.

For example, Creighton (currently 151st), which is supposed to be WSU's top challenger, will probably climb; and SIU (currently 221st) is expected to be decent -- they were picked third in the pre-season poll, not far behind Creighton -- so they probably won't be an RPI-killer either.

Well they better hurry because once the early non-con schedule is done then the rpi is rather well established.

We really don't need a season of RPI watching. We should all know by now that the RPI doesn't mean anything if we have a good one and it will hurt us if it's low. Our only hope is to maintain a good spot in the polls.

Panic? Just honest analysis of the facts as they stand today.

For example, Creighton (currently 151st), which is supposed to be WSU's top challenger, will probably climb; and SIU (currently 221st) is expected to be decent -- they were picked third in the pre-season poll, not far behind Creighton -- so they probably won't be an RPI-killer either.
CU does have a chance to climb as the best part of their non-conference schedule is ahead of them (Neb x3, Mizzou, Lous. Monroe x3, K-State).

SIU is laughable. Their remaining schedule pretty much sucks with Murray St., Wisc-Milw, SE Miss, E. Illinois and Tenn Mart. They have played 252 ranked SOS and are 7-7, nothing indicates future success.

What kind of magic do you have for these teams to keep them from being RPI killers?

                      238 - UNI (6-8 )
                      239 - Bradley (4-7)
                      283 - Evansville (1-14)

These games hurt us even if we win all three games, right?

                              what happened to evansville?
the past two or so years they were pretty decent.
did they just lose alot of talent?
or do they just all of a sudden suck for no normal reason?
                              veni, vidi, vici
