I have been surprised that he hasnt had a shot at it yet either. I think it has to do with the fact they are gonna rely on him heavily this year for pitching and he is after all a freshman and maybe its best to just let him focus on the pitching... Keep the odds of injury down and allows him to focus and excel at one thing and adjust to it as needed rather than get a little overwelmed or allow at bats to interfere with his mental game on the mound etc...

I would like to see Bret get more at bats as the DH 1 for 4 with an RBI and run scored is as good or better than most DH's so far this year.

It so hard for anyone to settle in with a game here or a game there. At least try one for a weekend series or something.

Yup. We have rarely seen the rest of the line-up so set in stone as it is this season and Gene likes to fiddle. Once he moved Dusty to the 4 hole and made Kenny the every day LF, there's not much else to fiddle with. Unless and until someone goes 4 for 4 for 3 days in a row, Gene will use the DH spot as his playground.

          Just my opinion, of course!

I think your opinion hit the bulls eye.

I see no end in sight to the revolving door at DH.

Maybe McKeever can get hot? He looked decent last night. I think he and Bascue are the best bets. Anyone know what happened with Engrav last night?

Brett Bascue went 1 for 6 with 4 rbi and a walk scored a run and the big stat no strikeouts as the DH against SIU. That is two games Friday and Sunday. Also hit the ball hard when he did make an out. That should be good for some more starts as the DH. Right? Had a big game against KU last year also.
