  • Shocks vs ORU - BYOB Promotion

The Shocks host ORU tonight in the final non-conference and final regular season home game of the year. Sam Hilliard will get the start for the Shocks.

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

There is a Bring Your Own Buddy to the game free promotion. Buy 1 ticket, Get 1 free. I checked with the ticket office. This does not apply to season ticket holders.

Shocks are trying to end the season with a 9-game home winning streak.

Wouldn't be anything wrong with that.

If they could go .500 or better for the rest of the season (including MoVal Tourney), I'd feel decent about how things ended up, given where they were and the injuries.

Sam gave a really nice effort in his last start- hopefully he can build on it tonight. It would be great if he and Chase could end the season on high notes to build some depth in the rotation for next season.

Also, while I certainly don't expect us to win the conference tournament, we no longer look like an easy out. It'd be pretty sweet if we can carry a 9 game home winning streak into next week's festivities.

Shox up 4-0 in the bottom of the 4th. Hilliard very sharp so far- 2 H, 1 BB and 2K on just 48 pitches.

Hilliard yields to Hayes with 2 on, 2 out in the top of the 7th. Hopefully John can slam the door and preserve the decision for Sam.

          4-2 Shox

Nope. Hayes promptly gives up back to back to back singles to allow both inherited runners to cross and an additional one as well. Unlucky for Sam that this was one of the few times where Hayes really struggled upon entry.

5-4 ORU, still batting with 2 on and 2 out. Ugh.

Shox tie it up 5-5 on a 1 out single in the bottom of the 8th by Mucha. Redding up to bat with 1 out and Mucha on 1st.

Good guys go ahead 6-5 on a botched grounder hit by Kihle in the bottom of the 8th.

Hayes gives up the tying run with 2 out in the 9th. He has had a really nice year but just doesn't have it tonight.

We go to the bottom of the 9th tied 6-6. Hopefully the offense can pick us up again.

Shox win on a walk off single by Rader with 1 out in the 9th!

That was a fun win against a good team.

Now that was kind of a strange game. I think it is easy to believe that not that long ago this Shocker team would have found a way to lose this game. But they figured it out. Actually, you could probably say that ORU found a way to lose this game. OTOH, the Shocks took advantage of the many ORU gifts tonight and managed to walk off the field with their 9th consecutive home win all against decent competition.

The Shocks will have their work cut out for them in Dallas this week. It will be very interesting to see how that goes.
