    Sounds about right.

And yet ... still a rip off. Well, not the crappy hot dogs.

Pssh. Dime hot dog night was where it's at. Nothing like carrying around a bread sack of dogs. For a dollar.

Didn't they put a limit on those nights?

But yes, that's where it was at.

        Oh and the awesome baseball.

          • I ate a small lunch so hopefully I can get my money's worth for once at the concessions tonight.

Curious, how many people think they will eat more 50 cent hot dogs than we will score runs? Keep in mind it's a strong south wind! Two weeks ago with a strong south wind we didn't do so great. What about 50 cent hot dogs compared to BB we give up?

            • I predict ORU uses 8-10 pitchers and the Shox never figure out more than 1 of them.

I am curious if Lungwitz can put up another good performance.

              • All of this bad news does not seem possible.

It wasn't so long ago, I sat on row one, behind first base. On sunny days, it was great baseball. (I am not a cold weather baseball fan, but I tried and failed.) And it was a great day and fun. My buds and I would visit about the regional that we would play in as well as speculate about our Omaha chances and recruiting. We would swap tales about Coach Stephenson's latest escapade or stories about players such as Tanner being love sick and could not field a ground ball in Springfield.

From time to time, we had to dodge hot screamers into the stands, but it was fine because we were having fun and the Shockers were winning.

We went on great road trips to Fayetteville, Mobile, Omaha, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Minneapolis and others.

Crap! What happened other than a bunch of bad decisions?

I gave up my tickets, after so many great years of great ball, great friendships and great fun.

                What in the hell happened?

(Just because I overused the word "great" doesn't mean that I am voting for Trump.)

Ten runs through two innings...I hope someone isn't trying to match runs with eaten hot dogs. That wouldn't be healthy.

I stopped that after the 1st inning! :)

                        • If we are honest about the attendance statistics, the numbers were falling like a rock when Gene was here too. The way the numbers were falling, we would most likely be where we are now even if Gene had remained at the helm.

                            That is a flat-out lie.

                            • Maybe if the coaching staff putt a little more effort and interest in recriting and keeping local talent (there is plenty of talent around this area) the attendance issue wpukd take care of itself. This Community is full of pride fir their olayers and will fill the stands....over the years the interest has been out of state players and with a losing record each year adds to everything. There arent any families or local fan base to buy the tickets...just a thought...HCTB's first couple od years was an exodus of local talent along with them went some deep WSU Baseball Culture with some of the players being past players kids

The Gene Bashers' spin is becoming more sensational and outlandish. Stick with factual data. Even Gene's lowest of lows is still higher that the Butler's highest of highs.

It would be better if the Gene Bashers simply wrote:
"We wanted to get back to the CWS, and felt Gene needed to retire. So instead of transitioning him out with a win/win situation with fanfare and appreciation, we took the biggest roll of dice in WSU sports history, threw Gene under the bus without even a thanks, and hired a replacement that failed miserably. The gamble failed."

It was so damn easy to predict-- unfortunately.
