They did a survey in the off-season and apparently concession prices were a big issue for people.
Could you ask them to do a survey on if they would like to have a certain assistant coach back?

The above is mostly a joke, but from what I have heard the answer to the question would generally be no.

      Strongly agree.

I've never met her, but my heart has gone out to her over these past couple of years. She turned into an unlikely lightning rod.

SB - I am assuming this is paid attendance #s? Curious if you got 2015 from the box scores or if Tami Cutler has put out a recent report for all teams.

EDIT: I found her report. It has to be paid which I am sure is what everyone reports. It is interesting that 1999 had our lowest average attendance in the last 15 years and we had the best home record (36-6) in the last 15 years.

Yes It is paid. It would be interesting to have "actuals" as it would provide a more compelling narrative.

You might have to be careful with 1999 attendance - because WSU baseball used to report "butts in seat". Then at some point after Schaust came (I think in the early 2000's) they stated only reporting paid (I guess because I creates a better perception).

It's like I'm in an episode of The Wire.

Mostly that perception plus it provides a better look at the fiscal support of the program as opposed to the physical support. Guess which one is probably of more value and interest to an AD.

I'm pretty sure they track both "actuals" and "paid", at that time they were just choosing to report "actuals". Now they choose to report "paid" - but they still have both.

I seem to recall Gene discussing this once on his show after the change and he said something to the effect they had to make a decision to report because the NCAA would allow you to report one or the other, but you couldn't report "actuals" in box scores and then for the final report use "paid". And he said Schaus wanted "paid" then because it put WSU in more favorable light in the NCAA reports.

As it would with every other program as their are always going to no shows among season ticket holders. Although in the WSU Women's basketball attendance statistics they include the actual attendance or maybe they include the actual attendance of the school kids plus tickets sold for the Screamfest Game. I don't know for sure. I don't think they charge USD 259 for those kids to attend. Every other game is paid attendance. Maybe the NCAA allows you to pick the method from event to event. Again no idea really.

I edited my post because I realized nobody would report actual when paid will always be higher. I agree they could easily track both now with their little hand held scanners that scan your card/ticket at each entry point.

I don't think anybody still reports actual attendance. Arkansas definitely used to report both in the box scores, as did some other schools (I know LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State did). Now it's paid only.

I remember that show as well. You stated it as I remember it. As I recall at the time, I got the feeling that Gene probably didn't like the change.

I bought the $30 season ticket package this year. Have always been a huge Shocker baseball fan, traveled to some road games in the past, went to the K-State regional a few years back, and of course the Super Regionals were a lot of fun. I'm also a huge baseball guy, played ball in college at the JuCo and D2 level, and am currently a high school head coach.

I've been to 3 games this year and watched most of the TV games. This team is just so brutal to watch, I get very little enjoyment from going out to the yard to watch this team. I'll probably go to 2-3 more games this year, depending on my schedule.

I need to support them by going. I used to go to 10-12 games a year.... none the last two years. My schedule doesn't help, but I like watching really good baseball. I don't want to be just a 'only when they're good' fan.
