No, it wasn't that. But I do remember Friends being down only 7-4 in the 6th the last time the two teams met.

Yeah, I remember that game...I'm thinking Gene had every guy who normally warms the bench playing in that game. Nothing against Friends, but that's the way it should be, even our walkons should be able to beat them.

If I remember that game correctly, the Friends pitcher was a sub-mariner and his form was just as weird as Dan Quisenberry. I don't think the Shox had seen a pitcher like that in ages so it took them until the 6th inning to get to the guy.

Out of respect, Friends fans gave him a standing ovation and Shocker fans clapped for him out of respect. The Shox did end up winning easily but the game was closer than the score depicted.
