  • 2015 Schedule

    I'm new to the forum.

I wondered if anyone would care to mention what the non-conference home schedule will look like next year. Tried getting information off of goshockers and there's nothing there.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The only thing I know about the 2015 schedule is that we will be playing the University of Texas on the road.

Home Schedule just tentative as I know it and subject to change
      Feb.

      20, 21, 22 Texas St.

      24 Nebraska Omaha

      March

      6 7 8 Central Michigan

      10 Central Arkansas

      11 Arkansas Pine Bluff

      13 14 15 Santa Barbara

      17 18 Western Illinois

      April

      1 Kansas

      3 4 5 Indiana State

      10 11 12 Illinois State

      24 25 26 New Mexico

      28 Oklahoma

      May

      5 Kansas State

      8 9 10 Evansville

      12 Oral Roberts

      19 20 21 22 23 Missouri valley Tournament

The Oklahoma game maybe Oklahoma State? I say that because Oklahoma quit playing WSU and Oklahoma State has been a home and home.
First a Baseball fan then a Volleyball fan and then I guess I follow the basketball team.

Highlighted again in the Eagle that WSU will play at Texas April 7, although the writer slipped in his research:

"Wichita State’s first game against the University of Texas since the 1989 national championship game highlights the Shockers’ 2015 baseball schedule..."

Actually, WSU and Texas met again in the 1993 CWS, with the usual result, as WSU came from behind and won on the way to its final championship appearance (to date). The Shocks have never beaten Texas in the regular season -- not that a total of two games in one season counts for much -- but they've also never lost to them in postseason play (1982, 1989, and 1993). If you have to go one way or the other, that's definitely the way to go.

Not really a non-con home slate to get terribly excited about. One of those off years. Nebraska disappeared too.

Yeah, lots of good games but most are on the road this year.

Does anyone know if TCU is a H-H series? I thought I remembered hearing it is, but I'm not positive.

Below is a breakdown of 2014 RPI for our OOC foes:

              @ Sam Houston State x3 (33)
ORU x2 (one home, one away) (96)
              vs. Texas State x 3 (93)
              vs. Nebraska-Omaha x1 (179)
              @ Long Beach State x3 (30)
              vs. Central Michigan x3 (129)
              vs. Central Arkansas x1 (113)
vs. Arkansas Little Rock x1 (155)
vs. Cal Santa Barbara x3 (51)
              vs. Western Illinois x2 (230)
              @ Oklahoma State x1 (19)
              @ TCU x3 (8)
Kansas x2 (one home, one away) (44)
Kansas State x2 (one home, one away) (104)
              @ Texas x1 (3)
              vs. New Mexico x3 (68)
              vs. Oklahoma x1 (82)

That's a helluva strong schedule and tougher than it looks at first glance.

Made reservations for opening weekend in Huntsville this evening. Anyone else heading down?

Definitely not a home non-conference schedule to get too excited about, but it might give the Shox some confidence if they can win some of those early season games. It'll be interesting to see how the second year of HCTB plays out.
