After WSU offered Jake DVH started to make some phone calls cover himself about Jake. He started to inquire about him and other players in NWA. It's a coup if Butler can pull kids form NWA.

I wish Butler luck in NWA.

I am of the general bent that Kendall Rogers can go heartily munch down a bag of Charles. The above tweet just might be the most respect he has ever shown WSU baseball. He's a big time BCS homer, in a sport where being such is irrelevant.


On topic, it is great to see WSU picking up some legit baseball prospects - it has been far too long. After all, being a recruiting bad arse is what Butler does. Cross your fingers they will be coached as well as they are recruited.

I'm glad he has committed to WSU. I understand you have to go after the best. However from a personal viewpoint I can't get excited about a cat like this until he isn't signed professionally and actually on campus.

Sad story about one of those recruits as pitcher Robby Evans from Liberty H.S. in Frisco, Texas lost his mother. Thoughts and prayers to Robby and his family and hopefully he will find he will have an extended family at Wichita State.

His father is old friends with Shockers coach Todd Butler and — this matters to a guy from Louisiana — he noticed a Cajun restaurant close to campus.

“Gumbo,” he said. “My mom makes it. My dad makes it. Chicken. Sausage. Duck. Deer sausage. Every seasoning you can think of. Sometimes, my dad puts in oranges for flavoring.”
