Thanks very much @Wuzee: for that good work. Makes following the guys much easier.

              Of note so far:

Michael Burns off to a hot start hitting 0.450 on 18-40 for the Hays Larks.

T.J. Looney has an ERA of 0.90 for the San Diego Force over 10 innings in 3 appearances. He has allowed 11 hits and 3 BB which is too high but has offset that with 13 K's.

Reagan Biechler has struggled in 2 appearances for the Terre Haute Rex allowing 17 hits and 3 walks in 10.2 innings.

                Some standouts so far.

Michael Burns has started every game in center for Hays and is maintaining his pace at the plate, now with a .425 BA after 80 AB. He also has 2 HR, 7 SB (second in the Jayhawk League) and pitched one inning, striking out the side.

Tanner Kirk is batting .306 with 2 HR for Derby.

Looney has lowered his ERA to 0.82 with a 5 to 1 K/BB ratio for the SD Force.

Biechler survived his bad start at Terre Haute and now boasts a 1.17 ERA.

Ray Ashford has a 1.80 ERA for Liberal in 11.2 innings, mostly in relief.

Jon Ferrendelli is 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA for Mat-Su.

Kihle is only hitting .224 in the Cape, but his 11 RBI are fifth best in the league.

Chase Rader is no longer on the Derby Twins roster, but hit .308 with 2 HR in 6 games.

Do the Shocker coaches still try and place players during summer ball or do they pick and choose from a list or what?

That doesn't exactly provide a feel good about the chances of him actually becoming a Shocker. Of course, there could be a lot of reasons other than he is about ready to sign a pro contract for his absence from the roster.

I believe on BA, if they show "pool", they have not been signed. On the first 10 rounds, they will show the bonus amount and have the name the bold type. Those in regular type will also show pool.

After the first 10 rounds, BA simply shows signed players in bold and no bonus amount shown (see other signed Shockers).

I see what your saying - what does it mean for players with no "pool" in their BONUS section

If you click on "Pool" it will show you the following information for that pick:

The Pool amount for that pick.

The Pool Limit - the amount remaining in the bonus pool for this pick.

The Limit W/O Draft Pick Penalty.

The calculations assume that all other unsigned picks for that team are signed for the exact pool allotment assigned to that pick. That would mean these numbers change as teams sign players for more or less than slot.

For Chase Rader, his Pool amount is $100,000 which is the bonus he can be paid without impacting the remaining bonus pool available. This is essentially the slot money for that pick. Any player picked beyond the 10th round will have $100,000 as the pool limit.

The Pool Limit for Chase is $163,800. I am interpreting this to be the biggest bonus they can pay Chase at this point without incurring penalty taxes. If they give Chase a bonus great than this amount they will owe MLB a tax of 75% of such excess.

The Pool Limit w/o incurring any draft penalties for Chase is $408,310. If they pay Chase a bonus in excess of this amount they will owe a tax of 75% of the excess over $163,800 and lose their 1st round pick in the next draft. The penalties can escalate from their if the exceed those limits by too much.

You will notice that all of the unsigned Tigers selected after the 10 round have the exact same Pool amounts and limits. Again these numbers can change as players are signed depending on how much they get.

This is my interpretation as best as I can figure how these draft rules work. I would suggest you take this FWIW which is a hellava lot less than what they can sign Chase for.
