In typical choke fashion, Florida State/ACC gets bombed by Georgia Southern at home in their first game 7-0. For a program that gets gift-wrapped regionals every year, it's amazing how badly they get exposed in them.

I wonder where that FSU troll, buddyball, or whatever his name is, will drop by to offer his esteemed analysis.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Watched a little bit of that one.

ULL is the best offensive team in the nation and was shut out for the first time this year and have been only held to 1 run once this year and that was the first game of the season.

        Ouch?

Not an impressive performance by the Valley, to be sure; a league never likes to see its two best teams -- which they pretty clearly were, even though Evansville won the regular season outright by a game over them -- go 0-4 in the NCAA.

Then again, weird stuff happens in college baseball tournament play. Florida's big three are 1-5 right now (no word from billybud, I guess), all as #1's in their own regionals, with the only win being Miami's 1-0 escape vs. a sub .500 Bethune-Cookman team. That's more embarrassing than any stumbling around by the Valley, although having Indiana State dumped by a bunch of Penguins from Ohio who have now won 17 games all year is admittedly right up there. Youngstown might have been the #64 overall seed, and if they weren't they had to be close.

Creighton went 2-2 in the 2012 Coral Gables regional which was the only time in the last 6 years that the Valley has made much noise in a NCAA Regional.

Over the last 6 years Valley teams are 5-18 in NCAA Regional play:
              2014: DBU (0-2), INS (0-2)
              2013: WSU (0-2)
              2012: CU (2-2), MSU (1-2), INS (0-2)
              2011: CU (1-2)
              2010: ILS (1-2)
              2009: WSU (0-2)

The 2008 Shocks were the last Valley team to win a regional going 3-0 at the Stillwater Regional with Clint McKeever's 10th inning grand slam against OSU the deciding blow. The Shocks won the super-regional opener at Florida State before 14-4 and 11-4 in the final two games.

Makes you wonder where we would be today had we held the lead in that second game with FSU.
