And there's another reason reason Simpson was second team instead of first -- he couldn't get the fifth hit. Guess he'll just have to settle for star of the game (if the Shocks ever nail this one down, that is), because without his monster performance, Parker's HR is just a footnote.

Evansville hitter sticks his elbow-guard into a pitch and is aboard with 2 down.

Ball game. Shox win 8-6. Exciting game, showed some fire. Maybe they can build on that.

We are not in a bad spot in our bracket. We were 6-0 against the other teams in our bracket during the regular season.

Co-players of the game IMO. Simpson and Parker. Dayne knocked in the tying run in the 7th to allow the Shockers to be able to breathe and then hammered the game-winning homer. Chase pretty much accounted for everything else. Nice not to have to rely solely on Casey because teams are simply not going to beat them.

Nice job of relief by Ray-Ray.

That was a really entertaining game. Any Shocker fan, or neutral observer, probably enjoyed that one.

That's the baseball equivalent of flopping on the basketball court. Maybe Marty Simmons helps with the baseball team.

At least there's another game left, plus the Shocks reached 30 wins. Might be a good idea to give up fewer than six runs somewhere in here, though.

And yes, dizzle -- it may have been entertaining, but at what point were you sure you were having fun? Took a long time for me, at least.

It does plus it very probably ends Evansville's season. Their RPI was 59 coming into the tournament. Losing to SIU and WSU probably pushes that at least into the mid-60's.

Tewes and Gardner are both capable of making that happen tomorrow. The big question will be if the Shocks win the next two who do we start on Friday.

I guess will worry about that if and when we get there.

Between 15 and 20 times higher than the basketball team's.
