I wouldn't be suprised, we go there almost every year.

Unless the rule has changed, you are allowed to go once every 2 years. The team will go next year, barring an unforeseen event such as Hawaii sinking.

I thought that someone said that with the new common starting date the Hawaii trips were over.

It at least doesn't make them as necessary. Didn't we used to go out there in the beginning of Febuary?

Hawaii has actually already started their season, a week early. So even with the uniform start date, there are still exceptions for teams traveling to Hawaii.

I had heard rumors about the Shocks going to Florida next year . Either to start, or for an early tournament.

There is no limit on how often a team goes to Hawaii. The Shox went in 2005, '06 and '07. The "limit" was how often a team could play in the Hawaii tournament without the games being exempt from the 56 game limit - and that was every 4 years. The Hawaii tournament may now be history as the 'Bows travel to the mainland for a tournament this season. The Common start date will mean that the Shox may travel to paradise every 4 years or so. Hawaii & Hawaii Hilo opened the season last Friday. And yes, the Shox are working out a trip to Florida in the next year or 2.
