I love it when this comes out.

Head coach Todd Butler will begin his first season as a Shocker with eight returning starters and 20 returning lettermen from a team that went 39-28 in 2013 and went to an NCAA Regional.

Before the first pitch ever leaves the mound it sounds like we're contenders. Nice intro article for those of us that have been less than faithful to the program the last couple of years. Go Shox

I'm sticking with my prediction. 40 plus wins and a regional final.

Bold prediction given that suspensions are looming. Hopefully, they're all bench players.

I don't think I have ever accused you of being a smart man. However you were smart in picking the woman you married.

so to summarize based on this very positive article

            Starting Pitching
            1. Elam (7-5, 3.17)
            2. Ladwig (5-6, 4.54)
            3. Gardner (3-6, 3.45)
            4. Brummet (4-1, 1.16)

            Bullpen
            LaBrie (4-1, 0.83)
            Vielock (3-0, 3.71)
            Palmer (0-0, 6.10)
TJ Looney (transfer) - supposebly a big get by WSU that Butler recruited himself
            Ray Ashford (transfers)

It is not clear who the closer will be?

            C - Baker
            1B - Gillaspie
            2B - Deerman/Bobbitt? **
            3B - Simpson
SS - Harbutz (Parker/Kirk in the mix) **
            OF - Bayliff
            OF - Green
            OF - Mucha **
            DH - Deeram/Harbutz/Zimmerman/Kihle

** Positions that seem open for somebody to step up into

              Closer

I saw somewhere a couple of months ago that Butler was thinking of using Vielock as the closer.

I don't believe the suspensions will be much of an impact. They will occur early
on and I think they can be staggered. Early part of the season is when experimentation
and changing lineups occur anyway, therefore, it might allow for a hidden talent to get
thrown into the mix and noticed early on. I am more excited about this season than
I have been in quite a few years. More wins and more attendance !
