WU is WU. What does it matter what angle he is facing or what he is holding? Oh we'll guess the marketing and athletic departments can do what they want. I still don't think it hurts the university any by having different looks for WU.

Not having the actual date, I'd guess mid to late 1990s. I don't remember those from the Dreifort era using it.

They were using Baseball WU in the mid 80s. They may have started earlier than that, but they were definitely using it in the mid 80s.

I only own WSU appeal with the baseball WU.This is terrible idea.Maybe ill start a bootleg baseball WU business for shirts and hats.I guess our black hats with baseball WU will be gone.

Actually I didn't even know other sports and a specific WU. I thought baseball was the only one.

There was one for track with Wu holding cleats, holding a basketball, holding a tennis racket. Heck, even the weight room in the heskett had a Wu holding dumbbells.

That's a very interesting point. With all this new rebranding going on, it obviously wasn't a concern 4 years ago when the new turf was put in. I wonder how important the image is now and whether it'll be enough to dig into brand new turf.

With most phase outs it is exactly that - a phase out. They aren't going to specifically replace Wu in center field but when that turf does need work they will do it at that time.
