  • Chase Simpson leading NWL in HRs

Shocker Chase Simpson has 5 HRs in his first 12 games for Mankato in the Northwoods League, best in the league.

Also killing it is former Shocker Kyle Bouman, who opened for Lakeshore with 8 no-hit innings in a no decision and then threw 6 shutout innings, giving up 2 hits in a win. He appears to be unsigned after a nice year (1.70 ERA, 53 to 8 K/Walk ratio) with Jefferson College in Missouri. Maybe BK is still in touch given the likely new openings.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Just remember Chase is probably really fresh and the top pitchers probably haven't yet found their way to the league yet. With that said it's still impressive and am really looking forward to having Simpson next year due to this great summer start and the reports of his hitting last fall. Really on paper next years shox is really looking good. I still believe it was time for Gene to go but on paper at least and assuming some sort of improvement from year to year by the players it does appear Gene had his best team in 6 seasons coming in next year.
