Certainly a bad start from Carbondale, where SIU"s main man Forsythe found a way to lose after being spotted a 2-0 lead and while yielding only three hits in a complete game. All too Shocker-like, at least in 2013, one might say.

Forsythe is probably just saving his gem for the opening round of the Valley tournament which will be against the Shocks unless SIU can win one of these next two games with ILS.

Illinois State is up 2-0 on SIU after 3 in Carbondale.

The Redbirds scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st without the benefit of a hit.

Update: The score was still 2-0 with ILS batting with one out in the Top of the 5th when the Gametracker either quit working or SIU quit inputting the data.

Game is probably over by now. Final score will have to come later.

btw, KSU won the Big 12 tonight, So WSU is 3rd best team in the state now.

According to the box on SIU's website, both teams had four hits. It showed the IlSt pitcher, Dan Savas, as 9-0 on the year with a 1.97 ERA after his four hit, six walk (and eight K) shutout. He was also the guy who beat WSU in Illinois State's win here.

Because I just can't quit you shocker baseball...8-8 bottom of ninth at SIU. By the way, the ISUr radio announcer is BRUTAL. We are spoiled with MK and SD.
