Well it was 5 and 2/3 of okay ball. Drew made some mistakes up and Evansville, a terrible team, made him pay with 3 home runs.

4-2 in the top of the 6th and WSU to the bullpen for McGreevy. He has to hold the Aces here or the Shocks will lose their first series of the conference, to a HORRIBLE Evansville team that came in on a 7 game losing streak.

Shocks trying to come back. They just can't stand prosperity but after a single, double, and a passed ball, it's 4-3 Aces with a runner on 3rd and nobody out.

They MUST tie it up, and need to scratch across another run or 2. Their reliever can't find the zone and the wind is howling out.

Baker gets a sac fly to tie the game. Well done young man.

        4-4, 1 out, bottom 6.

Mucha scores from 1st on a SINGLE (aggressive or not, that can only happen against a bad team) by Tanner Dearman.

Shocks still batting, now leading 5-4 with a runner on 2nd and 2 out.

The Shocks just don't battle at the plate like they used to....it's so sad.

The mindset of this team seems to be if you're ahead by 1 that's enough. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Top 8, WSU leads 5-4 but after a single and a balk, Evansville is likely to at least tie up the game here.

Shockers win thanks to a Baker HR in the bottom of the 8th and a scoreless 9th.

SIU doesn't look like they are going to help out the Shox today. Cu leading 4-0 after 1 inning. SIU ace Sam Coonrod threw 40 pitches in the first. (The game is on Cox cable 244 right now).

Wow, Illinois State ends up sweeping Indy State today. That drops Indy St 3 1/2 games behind the Valley co-leaders (WSU and MoST). Illinois St remains 1 1/2 games behind and Cu will be 1 or 2 games behind depending on what happens today in their game against Siu (just in the 2nd inning but it is looking like a likely Cu win).

BTW- I hate to complain about the umps, but they were awful today. The home plate guys strike zone was all over the place and there were some very bad calls. There is no way that WSU was out at 2nd, there was a very strange balk call that lead to a Ue run, and a Ue batter was clearly out as the ball hit him outside of the batters box but the ump called it a foul ball.

WSU won so it didn't make any difference but I just want to vent. I am tired of seeing horrible Valley umps.

Wow, SIU ace Coonrod loads the bases in the second inning and gets pulled. I hope he pitches this badly next weekend against the Shox.

Nice day at the ball park. It was sunny, a little windy but I would definitely take it.

Good crowd today. A lot of the regulars who have stayed away due to bad weather and basketball were back today. I saw some people who I haven't seen much of this season and even some for the first time this year. Other than the Wednesday night make up game against ORU, we don't play another home game until May 5. Hopefully by then the nice weather will be back to stay.

Cu went on to beat SIU 9-1. SIU had plenty of chances to score but kept leaving men on base. They left 13 guys on base during the game and left the bases loaded twice. So Cu finishes the day one game behind co-leaders WSU and MoSt.

Illinois St may be the dark horse in the conference race. They are 6-3, 1 1/2 games behind WSU and MoST. Their remaining conference home games are against Cu and Ue and their remaining road games are at Bradley and at SIU.
