I usually do this every year to offer a snapshot of major statistical categories. Here are the Shox rankings the last 5 years...bear in mind the extremely soft schedule we've faced so far this year.

Some obvious notes on what many of us know. Despite the BA getting better each year, they continue to struggle to score runs primarily because they can't hit for extra bases (and a high # of strikeouts...but I didn't research that stat). Pitching staff has also had a steady decline.

Anyway...not sure why I even care anymore. I just always like to show how poorly we stack up statistically with others.

You might look at On Base Pct (OBP) - generally scoring is correlates better with OBP and SLG than batting average.

You care because you are like the rest of us - you want to be able to enjoy shocker baseball again. It is alot fun when the school host regionals and people like Kevin Costner show up - actually it is just fun when wsu host a regional.
