    SHOX WIN, 6-2

Shockers win this one 6-2 behind a strong start by Elam and Coy's 4-4 day.

A Johnny Coy sighting. Not only 4-4 and a walk but 3 RBI. Hopefully, Johnny has figured something out. Let's hope so. That will help Casey also if he has.

2-3-4-6-7 spots (Bayliff, Gillaspie, Coy, Harbutz, Green) were quite productive going 11-20 plus 3 walks, a sac bunt and with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored. Dayne Parker in the 5th spot was 0-5 and the Shocks had only 1 other hit. Daniel Kihle did draw 2 walks and was hit by a pitch in 5 ABs in the leadoff spot. The Shocks only struck out 6 times but they still left 12 runners on base (Parker 4, Gillaspie 3, Mucha 3). No double plays though.

That was plenty for Cale who really settled down after giving up 2 runs on 2 walks, a wild pitch and 2 singles in the 1st. He only gave up 2 more singles, 2 walks and 1 hit batter over his remaining 7 innings after a 6-4-3 DP got him out of the 1st. Brandon Peterson getting the save allowing only a 2-out infield single in the 9th.

Eric Harbutz, playing SS, made the games only error on a 5th inning throwing error on the back end of a DP attempt.

At least some signs of life from the Shocks. Now can it be repeated consistently or will the Shocks drop back into a coma.

Had the Shox not lost 3 games to open the season and just lost 5 in row they would they would be 12-2 - of course their RPI would still be in the 200+ range.
