They came back tonight to take the lead in the 6th 5-4. But TJ McGreevy and the rest of our elite relievers gave it right back in the Top of the 7th. We trailed 8-5.

Looking at the gamecast now, WSU has scored 10 in the bottom of the 7th, Coy is on 2nd, still ZERO outs, and we now have a 15-8 lead.

Gonna salvage the series. Nice to see us swinging even against a crappy team. Pitching, though, is thoroughly disappointing. I think it's time Keminitz starts getting some of the blame around here. We shouldn't be giving up 7 or 8 runs to Texas Pan American, no matter what the year.
Not sayin' Keminitz isn't part of the problem, but you knew the quality of pitching was bound to deteriorate with the type of offense that Gene and his boys have been bringing in over the last 10 years or so. The offense has become very average at best the last several of years.

Edit: Before anybody starts jumping, I'm not saying we haven't had some very, very good individual offensive players. However, as a team, our offense is a mere shadow of what it once was.

I like seeing the 2 big wins after the very disappointing loss on Friday. I am concerned about the Shocker pitching though. Pan American is a very poor hitting team, pitching is suppose to be their stronger suit. The Shocker pitching gave up way too many runs to a poor hitting team.

A better showing by the offense. As stated above, the pitching is a bit of a concern. TPA is not exactly a good hitting bunch and they knocked our pitchers around a bit. It will be interesting how the Shocks fair against LBS and Hawaii. I don't think either team is great but they certainly should be tougher than just about anyone the Shocks have played so far.

          No **** Mr. Obvious.
An “Old West” Texas analysis and summary of Mueller report and Congress’ efforts in one sentence:

I bet somebody over at Hillbilly St can help you on how to remove that corn cob you've got jammed up so far where the sun doesn't shine.

Winning 2 from RPI 150+ team (that will likely be 200+ RPI) doesn't constitute a "2 big wins".

Now if the 2 wins were Arizona State or MSU -----that would be "2 big wins"

I meant big wins in that the margins of victory were big, not big in the sense that this was 2 wins over a good team. Because clearly this Pan American is not that good of a team. They are average at best.

To defend the pitching staff a little bit they did only give up 4 earned runs out of the 8 allowed in Game 3 as the infield comitted 4 errors. Still giviing up 25 hits total in Games 1 and 3 to a team hitting 0.226 coming in is cause for concern, especially when we had our #1 and #3 guys going in those games. Elam and LaBrie did get the job done in game 2.

Hopefully, defense will not have to be added to our list of concerns.
